I craft visual worlds as containers for story, rhythm, and emotion, so the audience can feel what the image is carrying.

I’m Ana Montaño, a Berlin-based Mexican colorist, DoP, and visual artist. With 10+ years of experience in color grading across feature films, TV series, commercials, and music videos, I’ve collaborated with clients including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Viacom. I’m a member of the Colorist Society International (CSI) and the Mexican Colorists Association (CAM).

I hold an MA in Cinematography, completed in Berlin. My work in the color suite, behind the camera, and in my artistic practice all come from the same place, a sustained curiosity about how light, color, time, and atmosphere shape what we feel.

In my personal work, I’m drawn to what is not literal or immediately visible, the unconscious, the emotional, and the psychological forces that shape how we inhabit the body and the world. Through surreal elements, I seek to make these inner states feel tangible, atmospheric, and present.
