Day 1 - Día 1 Short Film - 2023

“Day 1” comes from a personal experience that I later learned many women around me had also lived. That repetition made me want to explore this kind of moment through film. In Mexico, incidents of sexual harassment are so frequent and appear in so many everyday situations that they often blend into daily life.

The film stays close to Rocio as she goes through an unexpected moment of harassment, something brief, yet strong enough to shift how she sees and moves through the world. She reacts without fully understanding what is happening, and the story remains with her in that first, unfiltered reaction.

My intention as Director and Cinematographer was to observe this experience and let it unfold from Rocio’s point of view, leaving space for the audience to connect the pieces in their own way.
