Las cosas se mueven en mi casa Short Film - 2026

Las cosas se mueven en mi casa (Things Are Moving in My House) is a surreal short film about migration, loneliness and the feeling of being caught in between. The story follows Abril, a young Spanish woman living alone in Berlin, who no longer feels fully at home in Spain but is also unable to truly belong in Germany. After an uncomfortable phone call with her mother and an unsettling encounter with her neighbour, strange things begin to happen inside her apartment.

As DoP, I was drawn to the way we built Abril’s world through simple elements inside her apartment: objects, textures, light and small changes in the space. Introducing this other reality with such simplicity became one of the strongest visual aspects of the project. Working closely with the director, we wanted to portray Abril’s emotional displacement and search for belonging with a natural, intimate and atmospheric visual language.
