Tree Branches
I’ve been photographing tree branches for a long time.
It is an image I keep returning to, almost always from below, looking up. Every time I take a photograph, the shape feels similar to others I have seen before, but it is never the same. There is something calming in observing it. As if, by looking at those branches, I recognize something familiar, even if I don’t know exactly what it is.
Over time, I started to look at these images together. Not as isolated photographs anymore, but as part of the same insistence. I began manipulating the color until something felt like a revelation within the image. As if the original photograph was only the surface, and another layer was waiting to be seen.
This series comes from that: from looking at a form in nature and recognizing that I am not separate from it. 120 images. All different. All part of the same language.
